Sky Capital Financial & Allied Limited provides and is responsible for all financial and regulated services offered through the SkyPay platform, including user accounts, transactions, complaints, and data protection obligations.

This policy explains how Sky Capital Financial & Allied Limited, through the SkyPay application, collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile app or web dashboard (the "Services").

Information we collect

Account & KYC Information: Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, BVN, NIN, and residential address.

For higher transaction limits, we may request a government-issued ID (national ID, driver's licence, or passport) and a selfie for liveness verification.

Financial Data: SkyPay account number, transaction history, payer and payee details, amounts, timestamps, and payment references.

Device & Usage Data: Device model, operating system, app version, security signals, and crash logs.

Support Data: Messages, emails, or calls you send to our customer support team.

We collect this information directly from you, from your device, and from regulated third-party partners such as banks and identity-verification providers.

How we use your information

  • Create and manage your SkyPay account.
  • Process wallet funding, transfers, and transactions.
  • Verify your identity and prevent fraud.
  • Comply with applicable law and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide customer support and improve our Services.
  • Send optional service or product updates where you have given consent.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only where necessary to operate and protect our Services:

  • Core Banking Providers: Awacash and BankOne (Core).
  • Banks & Payment Rails to facilitate transfers and settlements.
  • Identity Verification Providers for BVN, NIN, and ID verification.
  • Analytics & Crash Reporting Tools such as Firebase Crashlytics (mobile app) and Sentry (web app).
  • Regulators or law enforcement where required by applicable law.
  • Business transferees in the event of a merger, acquisition, or corporate restructuring.

Data Storage & Hosting

All personal data is processed and stored within Nigeria.

If data is ever transferred outside Nigeria, we will apply appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our Services and meet legal obligations.

KYC and transaction records may be retained for a minimum of five years after account closure or as required by law.

Other data is deleted or anonymised when no longer required.

Security

We protect your information using industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and continuous monitoring.

SkyPay Africa accounts are available only to individuals 18 years of age or older.

SkyPay supports QR-based transfer payments within Nigeria. QR Network / Rail: NIBSS.

We may update this policy from time to time.

If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email.
